Rock Climbing and Boulder Experience

Rock Climbing/Boulder Experience

As many of you know I’m all about actively living my life so I put a list together of many  different activities  I wanted to do this year.  Well I was able to do a few such as Jet-skiing  and rock climbing.

So for my birthday my sisters decided to take me rock climbing and boy was it fun. However, I’m still sore from that day but that can also be because we worked out for two hours after. By the way rock climbing is a work out within itself. Yes!

Think about it, your pulling up your entire body weight with your hands.
We went to a local venue in New York City called Brooklyn Boulders, it caters to the entire family. While we were there a group of kids (part of a birthday party) was there climbing as if their blood line is linked to Spider Man.
What you should know
  1. Sign you waiver form at home. Yes, you’ve read on my post before. I believe if a company has it online, read it, review it than sign it. If you have any questions you can ask them upon your arrival.
  2. Gear- You do have to pay for shoes $7 (if you don’t have your own) and harness $7. There are other things you can purchase such as chalk for your hands to help those that are prone to sweating.

Note: There is an option to learn how to belay. The technique of belaying is when another individual on the ground floor is used as an anchor for the person who is climbing.

Have you ever tried rock climbing?

I haven’t been indoor rock climbing myself, but my kids have. They had a ball. I think it would be a great workout for me to try myself!

No, I’ve never tried it. Me and heights aren’t exactly a killer combo, but I’d be willing to give it a go in a controlled environment. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Definitely, also check out zip-lining to help with your fear.

I’ve never been rock climbing before, but I would definitely try it. Although I’m afraid of heights, I think it would be a great way for me to step outside of my comfort zone.

that can help and also look into zip lining. That might help you with your height fear.

I have never been rock climbing but it looks like a fun physical activity to try. Did you make it all the way to the top?

    • Reply Nay January 17, 2017 at 12:07 pm

I surely did not! I made it to the middle.

This looks so cool. My friend bought me a groupon to a place once, and I never went. I was afraid.

If you have the opportunity to go again, I say go and try it. Just let the staff know your concerns and ask for assistance.

Nice post! I love that you’re so adventurous! Rock climbing looks like a lot of fun. I think I would try it with a group of friends…seems like a girls night out kind of adventure. 🙂
