Shop My Closet Series | Fall Fashion
The season has changed and therefore I’m ready for all the things that come with the fall season. Such as the fashion, the cool nights, a cup of pumpkin spice tea and let’s not forget my cozy socks. As a curvy women looking and being confident from the inside out is important to me. Therefore sharing my outfit of the days or weeks is something I enjoy doing to help you reading to find options for yourself.
Since this is a fashion post I’ll get to it.
This season I expect to see the usual colors such as burgundy, black, olive green and mustard. However, since I’m shopping my closet this season. I’m finding different ways to style my clothes that will keep me excited and in trend. Hence why, having staple pieces as part of your wardrobe is essential.
Take a look down below and share your thoughts.
Outfit 1: Navy Blue and Gold
Dress: Old Navy size: XL (2 seasons ago)
Boots: Old Navy (2014 season)
Cardigan: Forever 21 Size: XL ( 1 season ago) NOT Plus size
Knitted Scarf: Gifted to me by my friends aunt since its my sorority colors 🙂
This plaid dress can be worn with leggings or tights during the winter season. I would pair this with a pair of cognac color boots to warm up the outfit color scheme a bit.
Outfit 2: Go Green with a Pop of Color
Shirt: Burlington Coat Factory (8.99) size: XL
Skirt: Taupe/Tan pencil skirt from Forever 21 Plus size: XL
Shoes: Old Navy ( 3 seasons ago)
Purse: T.J. Maxx make up clutch (6.99)
Do you purchase new clothes every season or do you shop your own closet?

I am just now learning the value of shopping my own closet. But I do love to buy a few new trendy pieces to spice things up a bit.
Oh my goodness you bear an incredible resemblance to my friend! She’s also a blogger and a YouTuber. Now send that TJMaxx clutch for me through the screen!
:). I think thats so cool. Whats her YT name?
I definitely shop my closet and my daughter’s. Every season, I find stuff she never wore and add it to my wardrobe.
hahaha it’s the best!
I love the first look. I mostly shop my own closet. I might add a piece here and there, but I have a lot of classic pieces that never go out of style, so I have a lot to choose from.
The classic’s never go out of style. 🙂
you can never go wrong with scarves this time of year. They can spice up any outfit. I also like adding a pop of color like you did with the purse in the second outfit. I hardly shop but like the idea of a new wardrobe. lol
Adding a pop of color can make an old outfit look new again. I like to think of clothes as investment items to use until I can’t any longer. Thus getting my cost per wear in.
I used to buy every season because I got tired of the same look. Now that I have two daughters, who never stop growing, I have learned to repurpose and rearrange outfits for new looks because all my clothing budget goes to them!
That I understand. But don’t forget to get yourself a few pieces as well.
Love the outfits. So pretty. I need to do some more shopping.
I try to get rid of clothes I haven’t worn in a full season, so I just got rid of a bunch of clothes. I’ve been sleeping on Old Navy so I’ll have to go and check out what they got. I love how you paired that clutch with that outfit.
I understand that point of view, because Old Navy could be a hit or miss. Especially for plus size clothes. However, I would still suggest checking them out because you might find one or two pieces that fits both your budget and style.

I love your style! The scarf makes a nice addition to your outfit. Great color choice, too!
Thank you. I believe these are colors we all can wear!
Love the looks and esp that yellow scarf <3
scarves are such a great addition to any outfit.
I love the first outfit – I’m all over navy and yellow (my favourite colour) shades right now! All of my past season mustards are looking a bit tired so I’m ready to buy a couple of new piece. I’ve been wearing lots of classic vintage style dresses but I’m ready to try something that’s a bit more of a modern look so I’m keen to try something similar. So this year I’ll be shopping for a few pieces to mix it up a bit (funds permitting!).
you do not have to spend a lot of money to look trendy and chic. I say look at different stores and sites, wait a day and if you can’t stop thinking about it look for coupons or sale/clearance items.
I have to admit, I tend to buy a couple of new pieces every season, jeans get worn out, tops go bad in the wash, but I have stuff I’m wearing that is 3 years old easily, and I still adore! I love the mustard colour on you, it’s gorgeous
I understand buying pieces, especially my whites. As a lady who enjoys wearing make-up my whites usually have to be changed every two years.
I love these outfits, and my favourite is the first one as I love how you have paired the gold scarf with the stripes. I would certainly wear it!
glad you like it. I enjoy the fact this outfit can look good on any size and shape.
